Kitchen & Dining Room

This project involved the refurbishment and painting of a recently fitted kitchen alongside a dining room.

Substantial cleaning and preparation alongside some small restorative ceiling work was needed for some aspects of the works involved with this project to ensure VCD could provide a professional finish.

The walls of both rooms, alongside all doors and wood trim were first cleaned and then denibbed prior to cleaning again. This time in tandem with the cleaning of the ceiling with suitable surfactants recommended by us to remove stains and grease to leave a suitable surface for painting.

The ceiling in the kitchen also had wallpaper woodchip lining restored and some small sections of coving refurbished prior to painting.

Before proceeding with top coat paints, all walls and ceilings subject to previous staining were treated with a stain-blocking oil based undercoat by Zinsser. This was a critical step required with this project to fully eradicate stains bleeding through in the future.

The walls and ceilings, wood trim and doors and other features of this project (inc fireplace and radiators) were then respectively painted with Johnstones, Bedec, Caparol & Tikkurila Paints.
